[vsnet-campaign-dn 3609] (fwd) V2527 Oph

(fwd) V2527 Oph

If Simonsen's observation today is correct, the present outburst is
most likely a superoutburst. Monard's observation may have caught the
early stage before full development of superhumps. Anyway, tonight's
observation will reveal the truth.

Hi VSNET team,

I have been following up on the alert and observed V2527 Oph for several
hours last night.

The active CV showed a constant brightness of about 14.2CR (based on a
measured sequence by A Henden) over the period JD 2763.30 - 2763.40 and
faded slowly and constantly from then down to 14.4CR at the end of the
run around 2763.62.
No obvious modulation was visible from the data.
It looks as if this could be a short outburst coming to an end.

A possible re-brightening to a super active state cannot be excluded and
further monitoring will be done at the Bronberg Observatory tonight, if
weather allows it.

Regards,

Berto Monard
