BR Lup: updated superhump period Dear Colleagues, We have received a new, high-quality long run from Greg Bolt. The amplitude of the superhumps have very slightly decreased, but the maximum has become even more sharply defined. The superhump period determined from the data up to now is 0.08228(6) d. With new observations during the coming week, we can expect a far better refinement and Pdot measurement than any past research on this object. The superhump period and supercycle (about 140 d) place BR Lup at an important location in the distribution of SU UMa-type varieties (see e.g. Kato et al. (2003) MNRAS 339, 861; Kato et al. (2003) MNRAS in press, astro-ph/0301565). Further intensive observations are strongly encouraged. Regards, Taichi Kato VSNET Collaboration team
