UV Gem: further period shortening!

Dear Colleagues,

   We have received new data from Jochen Pietz.  Together with the newly
analyzed data at Ouda, Kyoto, Tanabe-san (VSNET Okayama), Torii-san (RIKEN),
we have confirmed that the superhump period is decreasing, in addition to
the sudden change reported yesterday.  The rate of decrease in superhump
period is around -3*10^(-4), which is comparable to what we saw in KK Tel
(with less convincing statistics and coverage), see Kato et al. (2003)
MNRAS in press (astro-ph/0210674).  The case of UV Gem is remarkable not
only in its overall amount of the period change but also in the unprecedented
manner of different stages of period evolution.  Further observations are
strongly encouraged!
