[vsnet-campaign-dn 3283] CCD photometry of UV Gem at CBA Belgium Observatory (Jan 08/09, 2003)

Dear colleagues,

Weather is finally cooperative at CBA Belgium Observatory. I have just
concluded an unfiltered CCD photometry session on UV Gem (2003, Jan 08/09),
that lasted 4.9 hours, under perfect sky conditions. The resulting light
curve, available on www.cbabelgium.com, is showing very distinctive
superhumps. A first, rough analysis of the data yields a superhump period
value of 0.093 d, but the timebase is a bit short to draw any further
conclusions. Combined with other data sets collected by the VSNET
collaboration team, our observations might help in following up on the
evolution of the exact superhump period value (see also Taichi Kato's
message in vsnet-campaign-dn 3281).

I have now switched telescope to BZ Cam, an important CBA target, that I
intend to cover for about 5 hours tonight. Winter nights in Belgium (if
clear !) are just perfect for having 2 campaigns on a single night.

Best regards,
Tonny Vanmunster
