CU Vel: new observation from Peter Nelson

Dear Colleagues,

   We have received new excellent data on CU Vel (Dec. 20) from Peter Nelson.
The data clearly show superhumps.  The stability of the superhump waveform
is striking.  A preliminary period analysis shows a decrease of the superhump
period, which has become apparent during the past few days.  Further
observations are strongly encouraged to see whether a decay (or a regrowth)
of the superhump amplitude or appearance of late superhumps occur as in
some of other SU UMa-type dwarf novae.  The coverage of the persent
superoutburst is truly amazing thanks to all observers!
