[vsnet-campaign-dn 2907] IX Dra superoutburst
IX Dra superoutburst
Dear Colleagues,
The Kyoto team (observers: M. Uemura and R. Ishioka) has recorded an
ongoing superoutburst of IX Dra (the analysis has been delayed, as in
Var73 Dra). The object was caught in rise on October 10. A superoutburst
plateau has lasted since then. Superhumps have been detected on all
analyzed runs during the superoutburst pleteau. The detection of
likely superhumps during the rising branch makes a further confirmation
of early-time appearance of large-amplitude superhumps in ER UMa stars
(Kato et al. (1996) PASJ 48, L5).
IX Dra is one of rare ER UMa-type dwarf novae (Ishioka et al. (2001)
PASJ 53, L51). Since the object will be still bright for several days to
a week, further detailed observations will be welcomed. When reporting
the data, please also send them to Uemura-san and Ishioka-san
(uemura@kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp and ishioka@kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp).
Regards,
Taichi Kato
