[vsnet-campaign-deltavel 8] RE: Delta Velorum observations
Dear Stan and friends:
I've tried to refine the ephemeris
based in the 7 eclipses we have up to now. (4 from my observations, 2 from
Galileo and one new 1989-eclipse reported by Albert Jansen).
The main source for the ephemeris is
of course, the Galileo data because it provides long time coverage. Thus,
the secondary eclipse ephemeris based on the 1989 eclipse is rather good.
However the primary eclipse is barely detectable in the spacecraft data so
the moment of minimum is not as accurate as desired.
Using the period of 45.164 days
(refined by Chris Lloyd), I have established the following elements:
Delta Velorum - PRIMARY ECLIPSE : JD 2451715.15 + 45.164 x E
Duration: 0.9 days. Next eclipse: JD 2451850.64 (Beg: JD 2451850.19 -End:
JD 2451851.09)
Delta Velorum - SECONDARY ECLIPSE : JD 2447850.68 + 45.164 x E
Duration: 0.8 days. Next eclipse: JD 2451870.28 (Beg: JD 2451869.88 -End:
JD 2451870.68)
Best regards,
Sebastian.
Sebastian,
Could you provide a standard ephemeris for delta Velorum in this
area. Like
JD(epoch zero) + period. I must admit I'm a bit confused by all the
preliminary periods and measures.
Regards,
Stan
