[vsnet-campaign-be 197] V767 Cen not in outburst
> The Be star V767 Centauri seems to be in outburst ...
But it wasn't.
This weekend I observed it between 6.1 and 6.2 again.
After some research I found that this star is one of the Be stars tht shows
large amplitude short term variatuons not necessary related to "outbursts".
Last week it was probably in a bright state and now it's going back to 6.3.
Dachs, J.; Lemmer, U., 1989 mention that the star is variable within a
three-week period. ("New data on short-term variability of Be stars").
Another star that is curently bright is lambda Pavonis around 4.1. It
displays medium term variability with low states around 4.3 and high states
near 4.1.
Sorry for my rush.
No meaningful outburst by now!!
Regards,
Sebastian.
