Dear all: In our first observation of the year of lambda Pavonis, Cecilia Scalia and I found the star in a extremely bright state: brighter than 4.0. We don't know how long has been this bright state lasting. The GCVS lists the star as varying between 4.00 and 4.26, but I noticed that in previous editions the total range was as bright as 3.6. Maybe it was recorded but -given the subsequent behaviour of the star- then rejected? Anyway, keep an eye on it. The normal quiescent state is around 4.15 - 4.27 in V.
