The brightening of NSV 09182, reported by Rod Stubbings seems to be
confirmed by an unfiltered CCD observation at the Bronberg
Observatory.
A star near the published position seems to have brightened up to
11.7CR (030807.692 UT)
by comparison to nearby Tycho II stars. This is nearly 2 magnitudes brighter than reported by Rod (13.6v on 030806.427 UT), which can mean one of two things: 1. this star has further brightened
or
2. this is a very red star and probably not cataclysmic.
I believe the latter is most likely and with a filter set-up I could have
made certain...
For possible interest, the position of the brightened object , (q&d)
measured vs the UCAC1 frame gave (2000) coordinates: 17 35 03.54 -18 13
20.5 +/- 0.5 arcsec (moonaffected image) , which seems to be somewhat
N of the SIMBAD position
