MM Sco: refined superhump period
Dear Colleagues,
Berto Monard has kindly sent the second-night observation of MM Sco.
Although the amplitude had become slightly smaller (an effect of the
combined light?), superhumps are still clearly present. This observation
finally confirms the SU UMa-type nature of MM Sco!
The best superhump period is 0.06131(6) d, making MM Sco a member of
relatively short-period systems.
Further observations are strongly encouraged. The astrometric analysis
of the outburst image is keenly in progress at Yamaoka-san. A representative
image from Berto Monard is put on the VSNET MM Sco page.
