Re Ed Totman's possible variable: I have called up 3'x3' cut-outs of the eight available sky survey scans from the USNO-Flagstaff site (http://vsnet.nofs.navy.mil/data/FchPix/cfra.html). The jpeg images are available here: jpg file: http://vsnet.nofs.navy.mil/tmp/fchaaihEa_se0146.000.jpg jpg file: http://vsnet.nofs.navy.mil/tmp/fchaaihEa_so0146.000.jpg jpg file: http://vsnet.nofs.navy.mil/tmp/fchaaihEa_sj0145.000.jpg jpg file: http://vsnet.nofs.navy.mil/tmp/fchaaihEa_sf0145.000.jpg jpg file: http://vsnet.nofs.navy.mil/tmp/fchaaihEa_sn0145.000.jpg jpg file: http://vsnet.nofs.navy.mil/tmp/fchaaihEa_sj0188.000.jpg jpg file: http://vsnet.nofs.navy.mil/tmp/fchaaihEa_sf0188.000.jpg jpg file: http://vsnet.nofs.navy.mil/tmp/fchaaihEa_sn0188.000.jpg ...which should be available for 24 hours or so. Note that the two second-epoch J (blue-light) photos were taken a couple of days apart. Comparing these the POSS-I O plate suggests only slight variability (0.5 mag. or less), and the two far-red images (N plates) suggest likewise. The three red plates (se and sf) don't show anything obvious. Given the somewhat variable image quality of Totman's frames, it's likely that there's not too much going on here. \Brian
