WZ Sge period analysis Dear Colleagues, Gianluca Masi has provided the complete data set on July 28. The PDM analysis gives a period of 0.05758 +/- 0.00014 d, which is longer than the previous value, as Masi has pointed out. While this may be an indication of emerging "true" superhumps, observers be careful since the very first run of early superhumps also gave a longer period. A combined analysis with the partially analyzed Kyoto data on July 28 seems to confirm the period change (or instability), but the tendency needs to be confirmed by a longer baseline observation. It may be also that early superhumps occasionally show different periods (or the period analysis more reflects the temporary change in profile), or it may be also that true superhumps may be emerging. The overall fading trend has not changed siginificantly, unlike "jumps" or "kinks" in other recent WZ Sge-type dwarf novae when they start showing true superhumps. Only further observations can tell the truth! Please continue the present excellent coverage! Regards, Taichi Kato VSNET Collaboration team
