Hello, > T.Watanabe reported the outburst of WZ Sge (observed by M. Oshima). > The reported observation is > YYYYMMDDHHMM(JST) mag observer > SGEWZ 200107232233 97 Oht > > Kyoto team confirmed this now, and continue the observation. > More details will be reported later. This is great! Note that if it's near 9.7 mag it may still be rising. The previous outbursts had maxima near 7 mag. See e.g. http://saturn.sron.nl/~erikk/wzsge_1913_1946_1978.ps Close monitoring from now on for the following few months would be nice to find the bright humps at the orbital period in the beginning of the outburst, the superhumps later on, and the rebrightening or not (apparently the 1978 outburst showed nice rebrightenings, whereas the 1946 outburst did not. Also fast photometry is needed to see whether there are ~30 sec (quasi-periodic) oscillations, which normally only appear in quiescence. Regards, Erik Kuulkers
