[vsnet-alert 6016] Possible Nova in Sco

Dear Colleagues,
I've just confirmed the presence of this possible nova, with several CCD images taken at
Bellatrix Observatory.

The source is at mag 11.1 (unfiltered) on June 21.9337 UT.

Accurate astrometry:

RA: 17h 57m 06.73s; Decl: -32d 23' 05.6'' (J2000.0).

Mean residuals: 0.25". Eight reference stars from USNO A2.0.

Looking at USNO A2.0, there is the star A0525.30816527 with the following end figures:
06.71s; 05.5" The available magnitude for that star is reported to be 16.5, with B-R=0.7,
with the indication of "mag uncertain". Another star, A0525.30816527, with end figures
06.63s; 05.6", is superimposed to the previous one, with mag=15.2, B-R=0.4, with the
indication "mag uncertain". The field is very crowded, as expected.

Regards,
Gianluca
