Dear SN watchers, We have submitted a report about the spectroscopy of SN 2001bf to CBAT. It is of type Ia near maximum. SUPERNOVA 2001bg in NGC 2608 H. Kawakita, K. Kinugasa, Gunma Astronomical Observatory (GAO), and H. Yamaoka, Kyushu University, report: "The low-resolution spectrum (coverage 380-750 nm) of SN 2001bg (IAUC 7621) was taken with GAO 0.65-m telescoope on May 10.93 UT. The preliminary reduction shows that this SN is of type Ia near the maximum light. Adopting the NED recession velocity of 2135 km/s for NGC 2608, the SN expansion velocity, measured from Si II absorption minimum (rest 635.5 nm), is 9700 km/s. Note that NGC 2608 had also produced SN 1920A, which caught at m_pg = 11.8." Sincerely Yours, Hitoshi Yamaoka, Kyushu Univ., Japan yamaoka@rc.kyushu-u.ac.jp
