TV Crv bright outburst!
According to Mike Simonsen, the SU UMa-type dwarf nova TV Crv (Tombough's
star) is undergoing a bright outburst! Outbursts of TV Crv are relatively
rare. The last outburst occurred in 2000 March, which was a normal outburst.
The last superoutburst was observed in 1998 May. Because of the best
seasonal visibility, the present likely superoutburst deserves an intensive
observing campaign!
Although superhumps have been reported (Psh=0.0650d, Howell et al. 1996),
unfavorable seasonal conditions in previous superoutbursts have made
long time-series observations difficult. We strongly encourage observers
to concentrate on this object by taking the present rare opportunity, very
favorably located in the midnight sky, and wish for another successful
VSNET collaboration, as we have had in RZ Leo etc.
