RZ Leo rapid fading
Dear Colleagues,
The Kyoto observation on Jan. 13 (Ishioka et al.) has shown that RZ Leo
has entered the rapid decline stage. The object is about 1.6 mag fainter
than on Jan. 12. There is a hint of modulation with a period close to
the orbital or superhump period, which will be further analyzed by Ishioka-san
et al. The subsequent behavior is still difficult to predict. Further
observations are still very encouraged.
Even in the strong interference by the Moon, successive short exposures
enough to avoid saturation (of the comparison) and stacking frames in the
later analysis is known to efficiently record the object under such difficult
conditions. Please, with all your efforts and technique, record the
behavior of this rarely met outburst! The VSNET Collaboration team
is willing to receive raw images and make detailed analysis, if the above
analysis is difficult at the observer's side.
Regards,
VSNET Collaboration team
