Possible Nova in Pup: spectrum by Fujii
M. Fujii (Fujii Bisei Observatory) reports the spectrum of the possible
nova on Puppis. The spectrum was taken on Dec. 31.7, using a 28-cm refelctor.
The spectrum is rich in emission lines. Fujii identified prominent
emission lines of Fe II (multiplets 19F, 34F, 42, 74) and He I 587.6 nm,
while H-beta emission is weak or absent. Fujii suggests that the object
is a somewhat peculiar nova. The reduced spectrum is posted at:
http://vsnet1.harenet.ne.jp/~aikow/p_n_p.gif.
Fujii's report was sent to the CBAT.
