UV Per likely superoutburst
As reported by Mike Simonsen in [vsnet-outburst 1233], the SU UMa-type
dwarf nova UV Per is undergoing one of its relatively rare outbursts!
The most recent outbursts were in 1999 June (mv=12.8, Poyner, normal
outburst) and 1998 July superoutburst. The outburst interval suggest
that the present outburst is a superoutburst. Since the outburst looks
young, we can expect to see the growth of superhumps (or even early
superhumps) in this "semi-WZ Sge type" star. Time-resolved photometry
is very strongly encouraged, especially at early epochs.
See also [vsnet-future 17] for Watanabe-san's outburst prediction.

Taichi Kato
