New KAIT SN Date: Wed, 27 Sep 2000 23:17:32 -0700 (PDT) From: weidong li <weidong@urania.Berkeley.EDU> Subject: new KAIT SN Here is the report of a new KAIT SN. Hi Dan, Here is the info for a new SN discovered by KAIT. Cheers, Weidong ----------------------------------------- SN 2000xxx in IC 1468 C. Yu and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, on behalf of the Lick Observatory Supernova Search (cf. IAUC 6627, 7126) with the 0.8-m Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT), report the discovery of an apparent supernova in IC 1468. The SN was discovered and confirmed on unfiltered images taken on Sep 27.2 UT (mag about 17.9) and Sep 28.2 UT (mag about 17.7), respectively. The new object is located at R.A. = 23h05m05s.86, Decl. = -3o12'01".0 (equinox 2000.0), which is 25".8 west and 15".2 north of the nucleus of IC 1468. A KAIT image of the same field on Sep 16.2 UT showed nothing at the position of the SN (limiting mag about 18.5).
