U Gem increased activity Several observers have notified that the eclipsing SS Cyg-type dwarf nova U Gem may be brightening. Such an increased activity may be a precursor to the coming outburst. CCD and photoelectric observers (esp. those who are not engaged in RX J0459.7+1926) are strongly urged to monitor this object, around its predicted eclipses (coverages of +/-30 min are desirable), since time-resolved observations of eclipses during the rising stage to an outburst can provide extremely important imformation on the outburst mechanism. Please keep a closer eye on U Gem. YYYYMMDD(UT) mag observer 20000128.253 141 (M. Simonsen) 20000128.557 <133 (H. Maehara) 20000129.110 144 (G. Hanson) 20000129.176 <145 (M.
