Hello Gordon, Brian, and Arne,
you should have checked vsnet-alert 3991, too. Here is an excerpt:
There are three USNO-A2.0 stars very close to the catalogued position of
KZ Gem:
A) 06:53:02.496 +16:40:05.96 14.3 15.3
B) 06:53:02.468 +16:40:00.05 14.9 16.5
C) 06:53:02.744 +16:39:50.61 17.6 17.9
The star marked in DWS97 is just north of star C and southeast of B.
Star B (or a very close companion of it) is the outbursting object.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From vsnet-alert 4022 (Gordon Garradd):
I find the following position for the star Brian notes using 38 GSC-ACT stars, RMS resid. 0".32
Also position for star immediately to its north
KZ Gem? C2000 01 15.61503 06 53 02.47 +16 39 58.8 15.1 R 422
C2000 01 15.61503 06 53 02.51 +16 40 06.2 14.3 R 422
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gordon's first position is for KZ Gem (probably contaminated by my star B), his
second one is for star A.
Cheers,
Patrick
