[vsnet-alert 3645] Rare outburst of Var62 And

Var62 And is in (rare ?) outburst, as indicated by the following CCD observations:

1999 Oct 31.987 UT mag 16.9 C

Instrument : 35-cm f/6.3 SCT + ST-7 (unfiltered),
CBA Belgium Observatory

Var62 And is an UG-type variable, that was discovered by Sergei Antipin on Moscow plates.
The object is mag 20.30 in the USNO (quiescence magnitude) and was at mag. 15.5 B during
outburst on the Moscow plates. Var62 And is described in more detail (including finding
charts with comparison stars) in IBVS 4578. A VSNET chart is available as well. The object
is located at RA = 00h11m07.3s and Decl = +30d32'36" (J2000.0).

I have no indications on previous outburst observations of this variable, unless the
discovery images by Antipin. Follow-up observations are therefore highly requested.
Unfortunately, weather forecast for Belgium is bad for tonight.

I'd like to thank Sergei for drawing my attention to this interesting variable star.

Best regards,
Tonny Vanmunster
