(fwd) HST/XTE observations of XTE J1859+226

Subject: HST/XTE observations of XTE J1859+226
Following our preceeding message on HST observations of the transient
source XTE J1859+226, we now have the RXTE schedule. The next visit
(#2) will take place on Oct 27 1999 19:26:00 UT to Oct 28 1999 00:02:00
UT,
which coincides well with the HST schedule (which I remind you will
take place on Oct 27 1999 19:38:21 UT to Oct 27 1999 23:43:20 UT).
Coordinated multi-wavelength observations (simultaneous,
near-simultaneous,
and following the evolution over days/weeks) would be extremely helpful.
(R.A. = 18h58m41s.51, Decl. = +22o39'30".2 (J2000.0), finder chart at
http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/~peterg/gosox/j1859.jpg).
If you can observe simultaneously with HST and/or XTE, high
time-resolution
data (< 10 seconds) will be particularly useful. It will also
be very useful to know what the source did in the gaps between our
exposures, both for HST and XTE.
For this purpose, the detailed XTE schedule of the science observations
is given below:
### XTE ###
Type Date UT Start UT End
---- ---- -------- ------
Science 1 Oct 27 1999 19:34:00 to 19:47:00
Science 2 Oct 27 1999 20:15:00 to 20:35:00
Science 3 Oct 27 1999 21:10:00 to 21:29:00
