Dear SN watchers, I have forgotten to give the distance information of SN 1999eh: the recession velocity of the host galaxy is about 2000 km/s, which indicates that typical SNeIa on this distance could reach around 14 mag on its maximum. SN 1999eh is, however, of type Ib which is expected to be one or two (or more) magnitudes dimmer than type Ia. The reported magnitude (:175C) and the estimated age (two months after maximum) is quite agreeable and possibly it is absorbed by the interstellar medium (it is appeared in the disk region). Sincerely Yours. Hitoshi YAMAOKA, Kyushu Univ., Japan yamaoka@rc.kyushu-u.ac.jp
