(fwd) XTE J1859+226: BVR photometry urgently needed
From: Carole A Haswell <C.A.Haswell@open.ac.uk>
Hi everyone,
There is a new X-ray transient (accretion disk around a likely
black hole) which has been reported at R=15. We desperately need
multicolour photometry in order to calculate the likely ultraviolet
brightness so we can make Hubble Space Telescope observations of
it.
If you are able to obtain calibrated B V and R data this would be
a godsend! Please email Rob Hynes or Sylvain Chaty and myself asap
if you are able to take such data, or if you have any questions.
I'm appending the coordinates etc,
many thanks,
Carole Haswell
