TY Vul astrometry and identification
From the CCD image taken by M. Uemura and T. Kato (Kyoto University),
we have obtained the following precise coordinates of the (probable)
outbursting TY Vul.
204143.89 +253508.6 (J2000.0, based on GSC 1.1)
This position almost exactly coincides with the USNO star,
USNO1125.16991372 204143.822 +253508.92 (2000.0) 16.2 17.1
The position is slightly off from the DWS97 (cf. Schmeer, vsnet-alert 3435),
and the apparent presence of a relatively bright POSS counterpart seems to
contradict with the quoted minimum magnitude of 19. It may be either
the true TY Vul has a brighter quiescent magnitude than previously cataloged,
or the true outbursting object has already faded. We are looking forward
to hearing Schmeer's comment, who is accecible to the outburst CCD image.
Regards,
Taichi Kato and Makoto Uemura
