[vsnet-alert 3139] MACHO Parallax Events

Dear Colleagues-
Further MACHO/GMAN observations of 2 microlensing events in progress
towards the Galactic bulge have revealed likely parallax effects.
Event 99-BLG-1
Star ID 121.22423.1032
RA (J2000) 18:08:50.0
DEC (J2000) -30:31:56
V ~18.8
R ~18.0
A ~3.4 and near peak on 22 Jun, duration 210 +/- 18 days. Best fit
lens transverse speed projected to the solar position is 36 +/- 2
km/s. Chi^2 improvement over standard fit is ~400.
Event 99-BLG-8
Star ID 403.47849.756
RA (J2000) 17:56:25.2
DEC (J2000) -29:40:31
V ~15.8
R ~14.5
A ~4.1 and rising on 22 Jun, duration 208 +/- 25 days. Best fit lens
transverse speed projected to the solar position is 65 +/- 20 km/s.
Chi^2 improvement over standard fit is ~600.
