Norwegian Astronomical Society - Variable Star Section ***** NOVA SAGITTARII 1999 ***** This nova was discovered by Minoru Yamamoto, Okazaki, Aichi, Japan on two photos from Apr. 25.731 UT. According to Y. and R. Kushida the object is located at R.A. = 18h07m36s.22, Decl. = -27o20'13".5 (2000.0). A low-resolution CCD spectrogram by W. Liller showed that the object was a nova. Observations from Apr. 27 indicate a magnitude of 7-8, while it was at mag. 8.6 at discovery and invisible and fainter than 11.5 on Apr. 21. [ref.
