U Sco primary eclipse
Dear Colleagues,
K. Matsumoto and T. Kato (at the Ouda team rooftop station, 25-cm SCT +
ST-7 unfiltered) have successfully observed the predicted eclipse minimum
of U Sco on Mar. 16 and the ingress on Mar. 17. The depth of the eclipse
was 0.6 mag in total, with broad ingress and egress profiles. The center
of eclipse occurred 0.027 Porb = 0.033 d earlier than Schaefer and Ringwald's
(ApJ 447, L45) revised ephemeris. This result confirms the negative O-C
value inferred from the observation of the secondary minimum (vsnet-alert 2738,
http://vsnet.kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp/vsnet/Mail/vsnet-alert/msg02738.html ).
Regards,
Katsura Matsumoto and Taichi Kato,
Ouda team
