[vsnet-alert 2734] CG CMa superhumps

CG CMa superhumps

Dear Colleagues,

From time-resolved CCD images of CG CMa, which is currently undergoing
the second historical outburst, we have detected modulations attributable
to superhumps. The best determined period is 0.0635 d, an amplitude of
about 0.15 mag. The modulations seemed to appear on Feb. 25, became more
evident on Feb. 28. This finding most likely indicates CG CMa is one of
short period SU UMa-type systems, which rarely go outbursts. The inferred
outburst amplitude from astrometry supports this interpretation.

Taichi Kato and Katsura Matsumoto,
