I have analyzed the same DSS2 image, and obtained the stellar magnitude
around 21.6. I hope someone could check the result independently.

  (sample of calibration)
  instrumental mag USNO
  (from DSS2 flux) (V)
       12.14 14.51
       12.59 16.61
       13.29 17.59
       14.43 19.44
       13.72 18.19
       14.11 19.31
       13.89 19.28
       14.69 19.25

From the last unsaturated 6 stars, I obtained V-instrumental=4.82.
The instrumental magnitude of the new CV on DSS2 16.78, getting 21.6??
