   3C345 continues to brighten rapidly:

Optical R filter measurements for 3C345

at Colgate University Foggy Bottom Observatory
16-inch telescope and CCD camera
Preliminary reductions done at telescope
(errors about +/- 0.05 magnitude when bright, 0.10 when faint)

3C345 is currently undergoing a period of intense activity
(see the graphs available on this web page), reaching as bright as
R = 15.5 on 1998 May 16 UT. This is the brightest recorded
at Foggy Bottom Observatory since 1996.0, as shown in the long term
light curve.
