The following visual observations appear to confirm the RCB star V854 Cen
has faded nearly one magnitude over the past week.

980219.491 7.8
980222.479 7.9
980224.495 8.6
All observations by Peter Williams, Heathcote NSW, 10x50mm binoculars.
Further observations over the coming week will confirm if a deep decline
has indeed commenced.
