SBS 1017+533 [UGSU, 13? - 16?]
==============================
We have been able to acquire additional time-series CCD photometry
of SBS 1017+533 at CBA Belgium Observatory. Observations were
carried out during a period of 10.6h on the night of February 1/2,
1998, under excellent conditions (extremely clear and cold; -15 C).
The resulting data clearly show prominent superhumps, with a stable
periodic signal at 0.0697 +/- 0.0001 d (heliocentric correction
applied; linear trends removed), using the PDM method. The mean
semi-amplitude was 0.12 mag.
Combined with yesterday's observations (total of 18.4h of unfiltered
photometry data), a similar superhump period value was derived.
Belgian weather for the next couple of nights will be rather bad,
so we rely on other observatories to continue monitoring this
interesting new UGSU member.
