[vsnet-alert 1418] Bright outburst of CR Boo

Bright outburst of CR Boo

Gene Hanson reports that the helium cataclysmic varaible CR Boo is again
undergoing a bright outburst (cf. vsnet-alert 1402, 1404).

The persistent bright state, compared to the Jan. 2 outburst, may indicate
the start of a new supercycle. As in inferred from Patterson et al. (1997),
this star seems to show large-amplitude (up to 1.2 mag) oscillations with
a typical period of 19 hr, especially at the beginning of the "superoutburst".

Dense observations, especially at different longitudes, are highly
encouraged particularly at this stage of the outburst. Charts and previous
materials are available from

Good observing!
