Outburst of VZ Pyx Berto Monard reports that the SU UMa-type dwarf nova VZ Pyx is in outburst. YYMMDD(UT) mag observer 971003.600 <120 (B. Monard) 971012.099 <124 (B. Monard) 971118.919 125 (B. Monard) 971119.926 127 (B. Monard) This star was originally suspected to be an intermediate polar (IP), but the observations by the Ouda team during the 1996 December outburst revealed definite superhumps (Kato and Nogami 1997, PASJ 49, 481), leading to a firm classification as an SU UMa star. Although it is still premature to conclude the present outburst is a superoutburst, time-resolved observations are highly encouraged during the present outburst. Regards, Taichi Kato
