As is usual for a Mira star, it may not be strange to exhibit an unusually
faint minimum, but I think it is also possible the star may be showing
a dust episode, similar to the phenomenon of the carbon Mira V366 Lac
(AFGL 2881), which experienced an extended minimum phase several magnitudes
fainter than its historical pulsation.
