Brightening of QW Sge M. Moriyama (Nagasaki, Japan) has pointed out that the symbiotic variable QW Sge (=AS 360) has brightened significantly in these ~20 days. His magnitude estimates have been confirmed by T. Watanabe (Shizuoka, Japan). While it is not still certain whether this brightening may lead to a major outburst, follow-up observations, in particular spectroscopy and multicolor photometry, are strongly recommended. Recent observations reported to VSNET are given below. Note Moriyama and Watanabe have used the GSC sequence, which appears to conincide to 0.1 - 0.2 mag with the VSNET V-mag and the Tycho scales. G. Poyner has reported to use another sequence, which apparently gives about 0.3 mag systemtically brighter magnitudes, but his observations also seem to confirm the brightening trend. The VSNET QW Sge page is located at http://vsnet.kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp/vsnet/Symbio/qwsge.html which include the VSNET V-mag chart and a CCD image. YYMMDD(UT) mag observer 970726.037 119 (G.
