PV Per [UGSU, 14.9p - 20:p]
===========================
Lasse Jensen, CBA Denmark reports his CCD detection of an
outburst of this SU UMa-type dwarf nova, which belongs to the
Belgian CVAP programme. Gary Poyner, UK has confirmed the
outburst visually. Here are the details :
1997 Aug 26.028 UT, 15.5 (L. Jensen, 0.25-m refl., unfilt. CCD);
Aug 26.072 UT, <14.9 (G. Poyner, 0.40-m refl., visual);
Aug 28.052 UT, 15.6 (G. Poyner);
The most recent superoutburst of PV Per was detected on 1996,
September 15 by E. Broens, Belgium [CVC 108], when the object
reached mag 14.8. CCD photometry at CBA Belgium revealed the
existence of superhumps during that outburst, resulting in the
classification of this object as an UGSU-type dwarf nova [CVC 109].
The derived superhump period value was 0.0805 +/- 0.0001 d.
An article by the undersigned, describing the photometry results
obtained during the September 1996 superoutburst will shortly
appear in the Proceedings of the 1997 Odessa Variable Star
Conference (Odessa Astr. Publ.).
