[vsnet-alert 1058] SN1997cw and SN1997cx

   Two relatively 'bright' supernovae have been discovered.

  Discovered by the BAO Supernova Survey team

  +12o 53' 06".2
     mag ~16
     peculiar type-Ia (SN1991T-like?) at least two weeks past maximum?
                                         (IAUC No. 6700)

SN 1997cx in NGC 3057 (IAUC No. 6700)
  Discovered by Michael Schwartz on July 12.33

  10h 05m 37s.43  (J2000.0)
  +80o 17' 27".6
     mag ~15
     type-II past maximum
