POSSIBLE NOVA SCO 1997.

I have quickly scanned the Mermilliod UBV catalogues (NASA ADC Selected
Astronomical Catalogs, vols. 1 & 2), and found the following useful V mags
for comparison stars:

162856 17:54:31 -29:47:05 9.14 0.13
162979 17:55:08.7 -29:48:41 8.36 0.54
316569 17:54:31.2 -29:47:09 9.35 0.29
316608 17:54:12.8 -30:12:53 9.59 0.17
My observation of the nova:
1997 June 7: 11:25 (UT) mv = 10.0
20x65 binoculars.
