[vsnet-alert 969] possible nova in Sco

  IAUC No. 6675 announces the discovery of a possible nova by W. Liller.

  position:

   17h 54m.2  (J2000.0)
   -30o 02'

  1997 June  2.09            <11.5
             5.085 and 5.087   8.5 (TP+orange filter)
             6.120           V=9.0 (CCD, GSC sequence)

  No spectroscopic observations have been reported.

  We will use a tentative designation of "Nova Sco 1997" in vsnet-obs
reports.  Observations are encourged.
