- Subject: [vsnet-alert 959] ALEXIS Transient - EUVE TOO Being Attempted
- Sender: owner-vsnet-alert@kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp
ALEXIS has detected a potential transient in Telescope 2A (93 eV, 130
Angstroms) at:
RA= 20 16 50.8
DEC= -09 51 11.7
(Epoch 2000)
Error circle radius = 0.5 degrees (~90% confidence)
There was no evidence of the object in the co-aligned telescope 2B (186
Angstroms,66 eV). The source was first detected at approximately 18UT
1997 June 1, and may have been going through flaring behavior through
12 UT 1997 June 3.
An EUVE Target of opportunity is being planned.
Simbad lists 46 objects with no obvious counterparts.
Follow up observations are encouraged
