Gene Hanson (USA) reports in [vsnet-obs 5792] a rare outburst of the SU UMa-type dwarf nova V1028 Cyg. object YYMMDD(UT) mag code remarks CYGV1028 970517.440 142 HSG.AAVSO OUTBURST CYGV1028 970517.451 141 HSG.AAVSO OUTBURST CYGV1028 970517.469 141 HSG.AAVSO OUTBURST The latest outburst of V1028 Cyg occurred on 1996 Aug. 7, when J. Pietz detected the star still rising to maximum. After attaining the maximum of mv=13.5 on Aug. 8, the star started to fade rapidly. Preceded by this short outburst, the star rose up again on Aug. 11, and entered a stage of 11-day lasting superoutbust. The 1995 July to August superoutburst was quite intensively studied by the Ouda team (Kyoto University), first revealing this object to be an SU UMa-type dwarf nova phenomenologically bridging the usual SU UMa-type and WZ Sge-type dwarf novae. A more detailed discussion is given in Baba et al. (1997, PASJ submitted). Regards, Taichi Kato
