[vsnet-alert 649] UW Cen, BI Cru

G'day all,

The clouds parted briefly this morning (Dec 23 UT).  BI Cru remains
brighter than usual at 10.5.  VW Hyi was quiet at <10.6.

UW Cen has faded sometime between Dec 3 and Dec 23.  My observations in
UT are:

Dec  3  16:55      9.5
Dec 23  15:29    <11.2

It's a nice change to see this RCB actually doing something (and Berto's
frangipani is safe for a few more months too ;) .


I have also received numerous reports this evening of The Fat Man In The
Red Suit seen in various parts of the sky.  My children immediately
identified this phenomenon, but of course observations of red things
during Full Moon are always doubtful :)  Here's hoping he gives all of you
365 clear nights for 1997!
