This star oscillates between magnitude 12.5 and 14.1 in its "up" state.
The above observations fall within the fainter end of this range. Please
keep an eye on AM Her to see if the "up" state will continue.

VW HYDRI
The dwarf nova (SU UMa subclass) type cataclysmic variable VW Hyi is
having a superoutburst (See AAVSO News Flash No. 15 and 16) as indicated by
observations from Jan Hers, Danie Overbeek and Jan Smit (South Africa) and
William Liller (Chile). Excellent sets of CCD(V) data on superhumps have
been obtained by W. Liller on several nights.
The XTE satellite has been observing VW Hyi since May 2nd and EUVE is
scheduled to observe it starting May 7. Both satellites will be observing
it until May 15. Observers in the Southern Hemisphere are strongly
encouraged to keep a close eye on this star and phone in/Fax/e-mail your
observations to AAVSO so that we can inform the Principal Investigator at
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, California of its behavior.

ER URSAE MAJORIS
The dwarf nova (SU UMa subclass) type cataclysmic variable ER UMa is in
outburst as indicated by the following observations:
