- Sender: owner-vsnet-alert@kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp
We have put our V- and I-band CCD images of the field of a new transient
X-ray source, GRS 1739-278 (cf. IAUC 6348, 6350), on the VSNET Home Page/ftp.
The images were taken on Mar. 23, with a 60-cm telescope of Ouda Station,
covering the error circle (J2000.0 position: 17h42m40s, -27o45'.8, error ~1',
IAUC 6350). Though the images may not be sufficiently deep, we hope they
might be of any help in identifying the optical counterpart.
The data can be accessed via:
ftp.kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp, under /pub/vsnet/others/Xray/GRS1739-278,
files v0323.gif and i0323.gif.
or
http://vsnet.kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp/vsnet/, in "Whats's new" menu.
Regards,
Taichi Kato and Ouda team
