Concerning Dr. Howell's comment:
It would be interesting to note that the individual superhump period
determination during the April 1994 superoutburst ranged between 0.0619
- 0.0629 day (Iida, Kunjaya; the latter period was based on observations
with better statistics), which seems to "agree" with the photometrically
determined orbital period (91.2 +/- 2 min) by Howell et al., but possibly
not longer as is expected for a superhump period (!).
A similar case seems to have been best established in AL Com, which
shows two different periodicities during quiescence: one which can be
attributed to 1/2 Porb, the other longer than the superhump period.
Clearly we must learn more about the nature of quiescent light variation
in these low Mdot SU UMa systems.
